  • We recommend you driving to your destination

The eastern Iburi area is located just one hour by car from New Chitose Airport. The area is full of places to go, like the roadside stations that introduce the special features of the area. The roadside stations in Tomakomai and Mukawa carry a large selection of local products that can be eaten on site, or taken home as souvenirs. It is also close to Upopoy National Ainu Museum and Park that opens in April, 2020, and the Shadai Stallion Station in Abira, where famous racehorses such as deep Impact are kept and can be viewed by the public. There is also a railway museum that houses the D51 steam locomotive, and the Hobetsu Museum in Mukawa, where a reproduction of a dinosaur made of fossils is on exhibit. Besides the great places we have mentioned so far, there are many other fun facilities to visit.
Hot springs are present in each area where one can enjoy a soak in the springs in hot spring facilities of various sizes. We also recommend taking a drive to see the colorful flowers that bloom between spring and summer.
We hope you will drive to Eastern Iburi!!
